Description
Jim Beam Double Oak is an "unblended" bourbon, produced with 77% corn, 13% rye, and 10% malted barley, and a double ageing process. After standing in very well-charred American white oak barrels, it is then aged for a second time in a recently charred barrel.
The greater contact with wood this process allows gives the bourbon greater depth and complexity, though it is still a smooth, mellow and elegant drink. Intense aromas of caramel and spices sit alongside strong hints of toasted wood. It is also intense in the mouth, with hints of caramel, vanilla, and spiced oak.
