The wine
Celler Batlle is a historic Cava at Gramona and bears the surname of the founding family, the Batlles, who established the winery (originally Celler Batlle) in 1881.
What does this wine taste like?
Celler Batlle is an excellent Cava, truly magnificent, intense, profound and complex: those who have had the good fortune to taste one of their most emblematic vintages will find it difficult to forget. It is very rich in aromas of crystallised fruit (peaches, Golden Delicious apples and apricots), with citrus notes, hints of aromatic herbs (pine, holm oak) and musk, as well as endless ageing notes (crusts of toasted bread, hazelnuts, walnuts, toffee, praline, mocha...). It has a generous entry and is brimming with nuances; balanced, mature and creamy, it boasts a fine mousse and a mineral finish. A great Cava, comparable in its harmony and excellence to the finest Champagnes.

Winemaking
This is a Cava that undergoes very long ageing, more than 100 months, to which Gramona adds its own particular touch, transforming it into a Brut Cava with a unique personality: a liqueur d'expédition with only 6-8 grams/litre of added sugar and the secret contained in a family solera over 100 years old; it's the final touch that culminates in a great masterpiece.
Gramona creates its Cavas in the most artisanal way possible, employing natural cork during the ageing period, special racks for riddling and manual disgorgement. It thus obtains elegant wines, with a fine and consistent mousse, wines of great balance and complexity, such as their exceptional Celler Batlle.
