The wine

Named in honour of Madame Clicquot herself, this is the House’s prestigious cuvée that was first released in 1977 with the 1969 vintage, in commemoration of the company’s bicentenary year. Only produced in exceptional Champagne vintages and in limited amounts, the 1998 is highly acclaimed and has great potential for further ageing. Two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay, the grapes are blended from eight Grand Crus vineyards situated in some of the most emblematic locations of the region: Ay, Bouzy, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger.
