Cagnulari
The cagnulari is a red berry grape which spread in Sardinia probably during the seventeenth century. Today its favourite environment is in a small area of the province of Sassari characterised by very sunny calcareous clayey soils. An ancient forgotten variety, it has now been rediscovered in a quality wine, typical, simple and territorial. In the glass it shines with an intense and brilliant ruby red colour. Its fragrance is of red fruit (currants, strawberries and ripe raspberries), plum, blackberry, geranium and tanned leather. A hint of roselle peeps out while the character of the territory emerges with exuberance and notes of Mediterranean scrub. The taste is involving, juicy and very rewarding.
