Casavecchia

A typical grape of the Caserta area, the Casavecchia is perhaps identifiable with the ancient ager trebulanum Roman grape, an ancient name today not by chance can be traced back to the hamlet of Treglia in the municipality of Pontelatone, considered the qualitative epicentre of the variety as well as of the Casavecchia di Pontelatone DOC. A very dark and sparse grape, Casavecchia gives an opulent, soft red colour with austere tannin, very colourful, with notes of wild berries, undergrowth, wet earth and mushrooms to the nose.
