Malvasia di Candia aromatica

For many, it is the most representative malvasia, explicitly aromatic. For others it is not even a malvasia but a muscat biotype. Its origins are not completely clear, but it has been documented between Emilia, Oltrepò Pavese and Alessandrino since the nineteenth century. Today, although  present in Oltrepò, it is considered typical of the Colli Piacentini, where it is the protagonist of the most traditional white wine of the territory: a sparkling wine blend of malvasia di Candia aromatica and, generally speaking, ortrugo, which makes up an irresistible mix of fragrances, softness, elegance, freshness and drinkability. Straw-yellow in colour, as a single variety it gives a white with fragrances of fresh fruit, aromatic herbs, wild flowers, of sapid taste, with good structure and good persistence.
