Wine from Rosso Piceno DOC
The Rosso Piceno DOC is located in the Marche region, in central-eastern Italy, between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most important designations in the area for red wines and is characterised by its traditional blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese, two emblematic varieties from central Italy. Rosso Piceno wines combine the structure and spicy character of Montepulciano with the freshness and liveliness of Sangiovese, resulting in balanced reds with good acidity, aromas of red fruits, dried flowers and an earthy background. There are young, easy-to-drink versions and others that have been aged, such as the Rosso Piceno Superiore, which come from specific areas in the south of the denomination and show greater concentration and complexity. This DOC is an excellent gateway to discover the authentic and Mediterranean character of the wines of Le Marche.
