Wine from Morellino di Scansano DOCG

Along the lower Ombrone valley, which further upstream is the location known for the sublime qualities of Montalcino, towards the Tyrrhenian Sea, in southern Grosseto, extends what appears today as one of the most dynamic and popular names of the new Tuscany. Scansano is a Sangiovese with a naturally modern flavour, not too muscular but of good tannin and sapidity, fortified by the nearby sea breezes and refined by the subtle but not mountainous climate. The varied soils are, in different areas, sandstone and clayey-limestone, but they all tend to imbibe wines with great balance and pleasantness.
