Description

The vermouth of Turin is a collective heritage of the Piedmontese, whose first great promoter was the royal court of the Savoy, starting from the end of the eighteenth century it developed a flourishing industry that made Piedmont the kingdom of Vermouth. The Storico Vermouth di Torino is produced according to the original recipe of Giulio Cocchi. This vermouth falls into the category of sweet vermouth, or Italian vermouth, sweet and amber in color, found in manuals from the late nineteenth century. The Storico Vermouth di Torino Cocchi has been the protagonist of the international renaissance of high-end vermouths and of the renewed interest of the great barmen for the Vermouth di Torino appellation to the point that in the United States it is familiarly called "Cocchi Torino". It has quickly become one of the top-of-the-range Vermouths most chosen by the best bars in the world.

The original recipe by Giulio Cocchi involves the use of herbs such as cinchona and rhubarb which lightly tinge the beautiful light wine with a brownish color. To accentuate the amber tone, add the browned sugar prepared on the fire as for the crème caramel which, with the color, also gives a special note to the taste: crunchy and cotton candy able to round off all bitter tastes without using vanilla. A vermouth that excites, full of sensations: artemisia and citrus fruits are the protagonists among the flavoring herbs and spices, which with cinchona give balanced bitter and citrus tones, which characterize the style of Cocchi. The taste is therefore rich, with vibrant notes of cocoa and bitter orange. From the infusion of some noble and balsamic woods, slightly camphorated hints and notes of rosemary arrive in the final. Among the minor ingredients there are herbs and woods with unique scents such as sandalwood, musk, myrrh, nutmeg.

Drink it with ice and lemon zest, but essential as a base for creating the most classic cocktails, from Negroni to Manhattan.
