Description

Vermut Lustau Rojo is an exquisite vermouth made from Jerez wines, specifically a blend of Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez, which gives it a complex and balanced profile. Macerated with more than ten carefully selected botanicals, it offers intense aromas of Mediterranean herbs, spices and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is round and silky, with a perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness, highlighting flavours of dried fruits, citrus and a spicy background. This vermouth is ideal to serve chilled with ice and a slice of orange, or as a base for sophisticated cocktails.

Lustau recovers the Jerez tradition of making a vermouth in which Jerez wine is the true protagonist. Manuel Lozano, Lustau's oenologist, has carefully selected the wines for the production of this Vermut de Jerez. A perfect blend of two wines with more than 10 years of ageing in the traditional and genuine solera and criaderas system: an Amontillado, dry and with character. A Pedro Ximénez, sweet, intense and velvety.

Wormwood, gentian and orange peel stand out among the more than 10 spices and aromatic plants carefully chosen for the production of Vermouth de Jerez.

Don Emilio Lustau Ortega, his son-in-law, established the bodega in 1940 in the old quarter of Jerez de la Frontera, from where the company has been exporting its wines since 1950. Over the next 40 years, there was considerable development, including new bodega facilities, until in 1990 the...
