The wine
What does this wine taste like?
The 4 Monos red wine is a lively wine with a wonderful colour in the glass, between cherry red and ruby red, low density and viscous. The wine has fruity aromas alongside wild, fresh and appetising notes without becoming sweet. A smoky and mineral (pencil lead) touch, and notes of violets offer a remarkable complexity, with a very elegant and serious nose. The wine is intense and velvety on the palate, with a good, juicy and vibrant structure. The addition of Syrah grapes helps it to have a good body, while the Carignan grapes bring verticality. A fresh wine, accessible but complex, with a slightly smokey seductive finish.
Drinking and storing
Best served in a Pinot Noir style glass with a wide body and narrow opening, Thanks to its good structure and acidity it can age elegantly for 4 or 5 years after harvesting.
Food pairing
Ham on toasted bread / Vegetable rice dishes / Grilled tuna

Winemaking
Fermented with local yeast, following a cold maceration with 90% full bunches. The wine stands in a combination of oak barrels and different sized foudres for 9 or 10 months before finishing its ageing process in concrete tanks and being bottled in May of the second year after the fruit’s harvest. Between 19,500 and 30,000 bottles are produced.

4 Monos Viticultores
The 4 Monos project arose out of the friendship between Javier García, Laura Robles, David Moreno and David Velasco, four Madrileños who decided to embark upon wine making by pure chance. Convinced that good wine is only made with good vines, they cultivate vineyards at Cadalso de los Vidrios, in the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos, showing the environment all due respect in their viticulture and aiming to maintain the personality of each vineyard in the wine.
