Alonso del Yerro María

María is the maximum expression of the excellence and quality of the Ribera reds produced by Alonso del Yerro. It's only made in the best vintages and exclusively using grapes from vineyards of incomparable character which date back to 1989. It combines the elegance derived from the chalky gravel with the structure gained from the clay to create a captivating wine that makes an unforgettable impression.

After a late harvest by hand with very low yields and a meticulous grape selection, it's fermented in 60-hl casks. The wine subsequently matures in French barrels for 18 months. Finally, it's bottled without filtration followed by a repose in bottle for several more months.

Behind the cork of this iconic wine there lies hidden an impressive red, with dense tears, which exudes aromas of ripe black fruit, intense toasty notes and blue flowers. Full-bodied, it's crammed with ripe tannins and fresh earthy hints. A warm, mineral and slightly smoky finish.
