The wine
Castel Grumello, in the fourteenth century owned by the De Piro family, is a twin fortress, consisting of two separate structures, once joined by a wall that overlooks the hill cultivated with Nebbiolo delle Alpi. Hence the name of this wine, result of the assembly of grapes from the two owned vineyards located in the Grumello area. In vintages where the slightly accentuated tannins suggest a short aging in large barrels, Grumello Rocca De Piro surprises for the speed with which it acquires drinkability. And at the time of its debut on the tables, it always appears punctual: ready to drink, but also excellent to keep in the cellar among the reserves.
