Aroa Jauna Crianza

Aroa Jauna Crianza 2021 is an organic red wine from the D.O. Navarra, produced by Bodegas Aroa from a careful selection of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes. The vineyards, located in the northern part of Navarre and protected by the Urbasa and Andía mountain ranges, are cultivated following organic practices in fresh calcareous clay soils. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October, ensuring optimal ripeness. After fermentation at 26°C with 18 days of maceration and two daily pump-overs, the wine is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by a minimum of 12 months in the bottle. In the glass, it has an intense and brilliant purple colour. On the nose, it displays aromas of ripe fruit, pear compote, sweet apple and quince, with notes of cocoa, dried leaves and subtle hints of leather. On the palate, it is flavoursome and agile, with well-integrated tannins and a harmonious balance between alcohol and acidity, culminating in a fresh and meaty finish. This wine has received several awards, including the Gold Medal at Mundus Vini 2017 for the 2013 vintage and 92 points awarded by Robert Parker in 2012 for the 2006 vintage.
