Ca' di Mat Valautín Garnacha

As the 2019 had not yet been bottled at the time of my tasting, I retasted the 2018 Valautín Garnacha, which I liked even better than when I tasted it last time. The wine is pale, delicate, floral and elegant and is developing at a very slow pace. It has an electric palate with vibrant flavors and the salty and tactile sensation from the granite soils.

The smell reminds me of herby focaccia for some reason! Marzipan and maraschino with tannins diving into fruit diving into acidity which tastes and feels like red-cherry sherbet and mint sorbet topped with burnt cumin seeds and a scrape of vanilla pod. And red-apple-skin jam. Full of life. Quite sensuous.
