The wine

Insoglio del Cinghiale is probably the most typical of the Tenuta di Biserno's products. Made with grapes from the Campo di Sasso vineyard, it is a magical combination of untameable rigour, rusticity and balance. A blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, it is aged for eight months in barrels, a quarter of which are new wood, and rounded off in stainless steel tanks. It offers an intense ruby red colour in the glass, like all Bibbona wines, and fruity notes of ripe cherries, cranberries, pepper, soil and eucalyptus delight the nose. Soothing and powerful in the nose, it is also a fleshy and juicy wine in the mouth. Elegant and smooth tannins meet with a splendid freshness to define and balance its pass through the mouth and make it perfect for pairing with all the most typical meat dishes whether they be the main meal, just a starter, or even a game dish.

Tenuta di Biserno

Tenuta di Biserno was founded in 2001 by the marquis Lodovico Antinori, who is also behind the success of the Ornellaia winery. They aim to revaluate the vine-growing area around Bibbona located a few kilometres to the north of Bolgheri in Maremma. The Antinori family have made a firm commitment to this project, investing in top-class winery facilities designed by Gae Aulenti, and placing the oenologist Michel Rolland in charge of wine-making. Actually the winery’s projects...
