The Sangiovese grapes which grow in the La Casa vineyards have given life, since 1977, to one of the most highly-esteemed Italian wines and made this parcel, situated on the Montosoli hill, one of Montalcino's most renowned Crus.
Today more so than ever, this enchanting Brunello expresses the characteristics of the Montalcino terroir and the personality of the La Casa vineyard, located at an altitude of 300 metres, facing south and south-east, and planted on well-drained, clay-rich soils. Thanks to the production techniques of the Caparzo winery (one of Brunello's thirty historic wineries), and to the good use made of oak in the ageing of the wines (one year spent in large French oak barrels and another 24 months in 30-hl French oak casks), the La Casa Brunello reveals a fascinating and complex bouquet on the nose and envelops the palate with a smooth caress devoid of all harshness.
In the glass, its aromas emerge distinctly, refined and intense: black cherries, woodland berries and orange firstly, followed by violets, leather, tobacco, liquorice, eucalyptus and some exquisite spices. Overall, a pervasive bouquet that forestalls the wine's very fine body and structure.
On the palate, the La Casa Brunello is generous, powerful and aristocratic. Velvety in texture, it's especially pleasant and well-balanced. Tannins are present but perfectly tamed and impart a lengthy persistence.
The La Casa di Caparzo Brunello is an expressive, vigorous and profound wine, for enjoying now at its most exuberant or to keep for up to a decade or two in your cellar.

Excellent producteur
Très bonne bouteille qui peut encore un peu attendre avant d'être bue. En attendant le Brunello standard de Caparzo - 2011 ou 2012 - est un très bon choix!
