Carles Andreu Trepat
2021Spec sheet
The wine
Carles Andreu Trepat is a fresh wine of good complexity, with all the Trepat’s fine qualities shining in total glory: a sensation of wooded freshness enveloped in fine tannicity and vibrant acidity. A wine full of energy and elegance, produced by the first winery to make a definite commitment to this red variety which results in wines low in alcohol strength and colour, yet so subtle, fresh and elegant, superb red wines. This is one of the best examples.
What does this wine taste like?
Aromas of white pepper and wild fruit accompany a mouthfeel with fine tannins and a tantalizing red colour transparent enough for us to see through the glass. A short stay (6 months) in oak barrels is sufficient to round off the wine but without diminishing its delightful aromas of violets and cherries. Herbs like bay leaves and cloves also timidly appear to further strengthen the amazing sensation of woodland freshness which Carles Andreu Trepat transmits. A wine full of energy with a lively acidity and delicately bitter tannins perfectly integrated to ensure a result that flows elegantly and freely over the palate with no sign of heaviness. Every sip brings memories of dusty trails in a wine that constantly delights from start to finish like all great wines.
