The wine

Two families, two districts, a historic “baglio” farmhouse. This is the history, and the future, of Caruso and Minini. A Sicilian family of ancient winemaking traditions, the Carusos join the Mininis, the pioneering Lombard entrepreneurs. Together, they bring together the best of the Italian savoir faire and form, around an ancient baglio in Marsala, one of the most innovative and modern wineries in western Sicily.

Innovative and modern is the style of the wines. In the cradle of Marsala, in fact, the winery creates nectars of a dynamic and snappy expression, with characteristic fragrances and decidedly intriguing and never tiring flavours. Yet the vines are the most ancestral in the Marsala area: Giummarella and Cuttaia, a total of 120 hectares, are spread over a group of hills east of the city, with a maximum altitude of 450 m above sea level, on clay and sandstone soils kissed by the typical Mediterranean climate, windy and saline.

The "Naturalmente Bio" line represents one of the strong points of Caruso and Minini's research: that is, combining immediacy of drinking and respect for the territory. Among these certified organic wines, the Nero d'Avola is undoubtedly the most representative. A Nero d'Avola with a crunchy and taut style, beautiful acidity and absolute genuineness, anything but pompous and opulent, indeed, as the company underlines, it’s a Nero d'Avola 2.0!

The wine is ruby red in colour, while the bouquet offers fruity notes of blackberry and cherry in a fragrant and lively aromatic bouquet. The palate - fresh and dynamic -, is enveloping, with a soft and harmonious tannic texture. The overall structure is graceful and carefree, but the aromatic persistence is pleasantly satisfying. An ideal companion for roast meats, mature cheeses and mushroom-based dishes.
