The wine
The Catena Chardonnay is a white with structure and all the aromatic richness characteristic of wines made by this Mendoza winery. Used in its production are Chardonnay grapes emanating from three vineyards (Agrelo, Villa Bastías and Gualtallary) and the wine delightfully picks up the complexity of the three locations, appearing balsamic, expressive, full of life and fruit, yellow fruits, with an oak undertone perfectly blended as found in all Catena wines, thanks to the reduction in recent vintages of the proportion both of wine that undergoes malolactic fermentation (15%) and of new barrels (only 20%). Crisp in texture and mineral, it's a fantastic Chardonnay from the Argentinian Andes.

Bodega Catena Zapata
In keeping with family tradition, Nicolás Catena Zapata is now the third generation to run the winery and can count on daughter Laura to follow in his footsteps. They have been able to make the most of terroir best described as poor, yet exceptional, holding to the firm belief that these particular lands possess hidden qualities, excellent for grape-growing. The wine-making philosophy of Nicolás Catena lies in the art of blending fruit from different vineyards. Despite the...
