The wine

Produced since 1948, Cavallotto's Bricco Boschis of is one of the symbols of the Barolo from Castiglione Falletto, so much so that the owners wanted to adopt it as the company's name. The approximately 6 hectares grown by Alfio, Giuseppe and Laura Cavallotto organically have excellent southern exposure, between the South-East and South-West, in a beautiful amphitheatre which rises to about 350 metres above sea level, typically Langhe-style, planted around 1971.

At the top of the amphitheatre stands the family home, the company headquarters. The stylistic scaffolding at Cavallotto is based on tradition, with great Nebbiolo that acquires personality and emotional character over time, supported by warmth, tannin and breadth from when it is young. Memories of liquorice and mineral notes are the most sincere and profound representation of the Cavallotto terroir, and which are found in its sumptuousness.

Dark and compact, Bricco Boschis is certainly one of these, and expresses a rich and generous aroma, with hints of roots, undergrowth, berries, nutmeg, liquorice and jams. On the palate it is ample and vigorous, warm and soft in its impact, with typical, elegant tannins. Fermentation takes place in a natural way, without selected yeasts, and aging is carried out according to the principles of tradition, in large oak barrels for up to 48-60 months, followed by a further 6 months or a year in the bottle.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Jancis Robinson

Lustrous mid ruby with an orange tinge. Generous deep nose of beautiful ripe fruit. Lifted and vibrant fruit on the attack, long and concentrated but maintaining impeccable elegance. Gorgeous ripe, intense, tactile tannins like a carpet rolled out for the vibrant fruit.
