The wine

Celler Cecilio Negre 2022 is a red wine produced in the Priorat region of Catalonia by the Celler Cecilio winery. This wine reflects the tradition and characteristic terroir of Priorat, known for its slate soils (llicorella) and its ideal climate for growing grapes. Made from a blend of Garnacha (50%), Cariñena (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), it has an intense cherry red colour with violet glints that denote its youth and vitality.

On the nose, it displays a mixture of ripe fruit aromas such as blackberries and plums, together with mineral notes characteristic of the slate soil, and hints of spices and liquorice. On the palate, it is a powerful and structured wine, with marked but well-integrated tannins.

The mineral and fruity notes are complemented by a balanced acidity, offering a long and expressive finish. This wine is ideal to accompany grilled red meat dishes, robust stews and cured cheeses, although it can also be enjoyed on its own to appreciate its complexity and richness of flavours. It is recommended to be served between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius to enhance its organoleptic qualities.

Celler Cecilio Negre 2022 represents not only the essence of Priorat, but also the dedication of a family winery with a history dating back to 1942, being the first to be officially registered in the Priorat Designation of Origin in 1954.
