The wine

Les Granits reveals a golden yellow color. A mineral nose with floral notes of honeysuckle and lily in its youth, Tabasco, wax, honey. On the palate it is well balanced with great harmony for a finely spicy finish which will develop on honey with age. Depending on the vintage, the wine can be kept for 30 to 60 years, or even 50 to 75 years.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker and Jancis Robinson

Ripe and round, the 2018 Saint-Joseph Les Granits Blanc is a lovely example of this cuvée, combining full-bodied richness with citrus zest and freshness. Melon and tangerine notes fill out the ample palate, lingering delicately on the finish.

100% Marsanne. Maximum new-oak influence at this stage, liberally doused with sweet spice and dairy. Plenty of almond, apricot, hazelnut and peach too, plus a dash of salinity on the finish to give savoury tension. The oak has a lot of influence, but the sheer power of flavour is convincing.

M. Chapoutier

The Maison Chapoutier lays claim to a family tradition which dates back to 1808, although it wasn't until Michel Chapoutier took control of the company in 1990 that its wines began to stand out, with a very extensive catalogue offering a variety of high quality products. Chapoutier is particularly well-known for its remarkable Hermitage wines; in this appellation, the Chapoutier maison owns its largest tract of wine-producing land, comprising 34 of the 115 hectares held...
