The wine

The Château La Lagune 2019 is an elegant red wine from the prestigious Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux. Made mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, this wine stands out for its balanced and refined character.

On the nose, it offers aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and plums, along with notes of cedar, liquorice and subtle spices from its ageing in French oak barrels. On the palate, it is smooth, with well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity, culminating in a long, sophisticated finish. Ideal to cellar and enjoy for years to come.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker, Jancis Robinson, and Suckling

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 la Lagune springs from the glass with scents of baked plums, boysenberries and dried mulberries plus touches of underbrush, damp soil and a medicinal waft. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a good amount of savory, muscular fruit with chewy tannins and an invigorating finish.

Tasted blind. Deep smudgy garnet. Smoky, leathery and pretty oaky on the nose with a touch of char. Oaky on the palate too. A clash of acidity and tannin at the moment but there’s decent fruit underneath.

This shows an enchanting nose of roses, violets and other flowers. It's also fruity but very subtle. A full-body, super-structured red with an excellent backbone of ripe yet firm tannins. Goes on for minutes. Don’t touch for five or six years. Try in 2019.
