Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker, Jancis Robinson, and Suckling

The 2016 Rahoul is a blend of 60% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot picked from 28 September until 10 October. It has a well-defined bouquet with blackberry, sandalwood and light smoky aromas. I like the focus and detail of this Rahoul. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, very refined with nicely integrated new oak and a long, quite sensual finish. You know, this is a very good Rahoul that will surpass the excellent 2015.

Very dark with black core. Beautifully fragrant, ripe and spicy Cabernet aroma, even though it is majority Merlot. Scented and herbal on the palate, that leafy capsicum flavour giving extra freshness. Tight and juicy on the palate. Deep but gentle tannin texture, not quite as persistent as the Chantegrive.

This is one of the best Rahoul reds I have had with tile, smoke, berry and sweet tobacco. Medium-bodied with medium-round tannins and a flavorful finish. Direct and velvet-textured. 62% merlot, 35% cabernet sauvignon and 3% petite verdot. Drink in 2023 and onwards.
