The wine
This wine comes under the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru sub-appellation and from 30 year-old vines on average (the oldest date back to 1954) planted in 10 hectares of clay-limestone and flint-gravel soils.
It was called “garage wine” by the first wine critics. Although still without classification, it is considered by professionals in the trade (including Robert Parker) to be one of Bordeaux's Premiers Crus.
Matured for 18-30 months in new barrels.
