The wine
Muro Sant'Angelo Contrada Barbatto is, to all intents and purposes, one of the great paradigms of the Primitivo di Gioia del Colle. Dense ruby in colour, it displays an olfactory spectrum of unrivalled finesse and amplitude, starting from black cherry and heading to nutmeg, cloves, black pepper and cocoa. On the palate it is sumptuous too, deep and velvety, robust and opulent, with austere but precious tannins. Extremely persistent, this wine promises unexpected longevity.
