The wine

After a gentle pressing, the must flows to the barrels by means of gravity. It ferments in French oak and is aged on its lees with periodic battonage, combining the usage of new and used oak with an egg-shaped concrete tank.

It smells of white currants, lemon and ripe persimmon. The first sensation on the palate is of a noticeable volume and density, it's intense but exudes a green apple freshness. It's made using a blend similar to that of its older sibling, the Château Pape Clément Blanc, and with the same attention to detail. A second wine of a similar standard to many firsts, with a remarkably long and balanced finish.
