The wine

A 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) wine produced by Bodega Santa Eulalia at La Horra, the Frutos Villar family’s estate of 210 hectares in the Ribera del Duero region.

Appearing bright and a ruby red colour of medium to high intensity, the wine releases a clean, powerful and complex aroma offering elegant ageing notes and persistent fruit notes with balsamic hints. Full and balanced on the palate, it comes over harmoniously with nuances from ageing and fruit notes. Lingering well and capturing flavour via the retronasal passage.

Aged in 85% American and 15% French oak barrels, over a period of 12 to 18 months with racking every 3 or 6 months. Rested for a further 6 months in a temperature-controlled underground cellar before release.

Bodega Calderona, their second winery, was set up in Cigales in 1960 and has 105 hectares of vineyards, producing wines which...
