The wine
The Coto de Imaz Reserva is an intense and silky red which gathers awards from all over, and with its perfect balance wins over all who try it. A traditional Rioja, made for a ready market and very easy to drink, with no rough edges and well-defined as to aromas, a wine produced in large quantities yet with an admirable price-quality ratio.
What does this wine taste like?
At first sight, it appears a vivid cherry colour with a garnet rim. On the nose, the substantial fruit mingles with hints of cocoa, enhancing a mature yet at the same time fresh body, thanks to the fantastic acidity which will allow it to continue evolving in bottle for years. It’s meaty, powerful and velvety, with polished tannins and a vibrant freshness.

Aged for 18 months in 225-litre American oak barrels. Subsequent refinement in bottle for a further three and a half years before being released for sale.
