The wine

The Cayrol from Domaine Lafage is a 100% Carignan of extreme purity that shows all the mineral character of the IGP Côtes Catalanes. The palate is medium to full-bodied and it boasts boundless elegance thanks to the most floral side of Carignan and its pleasant tannins; a touch of dust is mixed with blackberry, mint and pepper notes that give form to a fresh and meaty palate at the same time, that can only be explained by slate soils and the altitude at which the vines are planted. It's a wine that continues developing in the glass, resulting, if that's possible, into a more balanced and intense wine at every sip: spices, cherries, toasted hints... An exquisite wine that truly pictures the beauty, power and personality of a Carignan wine at the heart of the Roussillon.

Only a 10% of this wine is matured in oak to preserve what the soils, the old vines and the climate have to offer. A firm value, with guaranteed pleasure.

Domaine Lafage

The winery's modern-day history began with 36 ha of inherited old vines and gradually extended over very varied corners of Roussillon, where different climates and terrains occur, enabling the winery to produce one of the most complete wine portfolios in the whole of France.
