The wine
The soils of granite and schist clearly define this wonderful Grenache from the Roussillon that could be easily mistaken as one from the Sierra de Gredos. It has firm tannins with a juicy palate; it's robust while boasting elegance, thanks to a well-handled fruit and a conscious use of oak. Blackberries, violets, undergrowth and liquorice display a very clean and complex nose. The palate is medium-bodied and everything is beautifully tailored: the tannins have graceful power, a juiciness that is well refreshed by acidity and a touch of bitterness that make this Nicolas almost an addictive wine.
