The wine
A red wine that does not like to be hurried. Made from a selection of grapes sourced from vines aged over 45 years old, this is a Toro that requires some patience in order to enjoy it to the full with all its character and intensity.
Elegant, well-executed, powerful but restrained, vibrant but balanced and rounded, it represents that “second” level of Toro wines, a fruit-forward wine that is fresh and lively, and offering an even more elegant presence and harmonious structure than can be found in its cellar sibling El Primer Paso.
Aged for 16 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels.

Anthony Terryn is the owner, oenologist, vinegrower...quite the "be all and end all" at this small Toro winery where he makes wines with character, wines "with soul" as he likes to call them, wines which convey the personality of their origins. Since 2004, and now assisted by a small team, Terryn has focused all his efforts on caring for the raw material, Tinta de Toro variety grapevines which grow in small parcels of land on the exceptional Pago de la Jara estate.
