The wine
Sonnenhur, sundial, is Wehlen's best payment, shared with neighboring Zeltingen. It is an impressive slope of blue slate on the edge of the Mosel, in the central part of this - the middle Moselle - and which, in the purest Burgundian style, is divided among a multitude of owners who can bottle their own wine or sell the grapes. It is recognized as the source of some of the most elegant wines in Germany.

Ernst Loosen was born to a German family with a longstanding winemaking tradition behind their name. The Dr. Loosen winery, on the banks of the River Moselle, has been run by the family for over 200 years.
