El Coto Mayor Crianza

Lovely Wine - Terrific Value

Have been a fan of El Coto for many, many years. Good, light drinkable reds at the affordable end and good value at the €8.00/10.00 mark. The Coto Mayor sits between the regular Crianza and Reserva Coto Imaz - and is seriously good wine for the money, and an absolute steal when tasted against the higher priced reserva. Happily cellar it for a few years and the tannins will soften out.

Lovely smooth wine

I'm very much in the Crianza part of Spanish wines. The Mayor version is very drinkable and not too oaky. Great to drink on its own. If I was eating red meat, I'd go for the El Coto Crianza which has more 'boot'.

A good everyday wine

Myself and my family travel to Spain many times in a year, we all love Rioja especially El Coto, the El Coto Mayor Crianza adds a richness to an already enjoyable every day wine. We love it.

So much better than the crianza

Really good with a hint of vanilla. So smooth, great value for such a good wine. Better than the 2014

A lighter flavour

Subtle flavours which are lighter on the palate than El Coto enjoyable for a warm summer's evening
