The wine

A ‘high expression’ red wine (intense and fruit-driven), impressive, with a fine concentration of ripe tannins, elegant and notably persistent. A magnificent wine that displays the complexity and typical qualities of the Cérvoles bodega, on the northern slope of El Montsant and at the foot of the Sierra de Llena, at an altitude of around 700-750 metres, where the countryside aromas are protected from the extreme heat.

After a selection from the best areas of each parcel, from mature vine-stock aged between 20 and 40 years old, the wine has been fermented and aged on its lees separately, with periodic stirring (bâtonnage) over the first three months to impart a creamy texture.

(On the bottle label an asterisk denotes from which parcels the fruit was harvested each year.)
