The wine

Although what is meant by a “feminine wine” is always a bit delicate and a little confused, you are sure to immediately understand when we say that Furvus is a feminine wine.

Vinyes Domènech wines are characterised by their smoothness and subtlety, and Furvus is no exception: it is perfumed, showing refined minerality on the nose, combined with delicate aromas of red fruits, cranberries and plums; it has finesse and generosity, and its tannins are present but mellowed and elegant. An absolute delight.

Furvus starts life in a landscape of outstanding beauty, between two fine mountain ranges, the Llaberia and the Montalt, with the Mediterranean Sea to the back and Montsant to the north, and its Mediterranean personality is unquestionable: it is warm and fresh on the nose (you may detect notes of pine kernels, and resin possibly…, others may smell damp leaves – definitely aromas of trees and woods), and creamy on the palate, with a pleasant texture that surely must come from that velvety Hairy Garnacha, and smoothness from the Merlot and, of course, from a job well done. Don’t be fooled by its pale colour, a ruby red of medium intensity: it is a fully-rounded wine, with plenty of depth and a lengthy, persistent aftertaste, leaving us with a slight vanilla finish.

NOTE: Opening the bottle and decanting the wine half an hour before serving is recommended.
