The wine
What does this wine taste like?
It has a Picota cherry colour and aromas of cherries in liquor, fallen leaves and liquorice. It feels fresh in the mouth with a silky centre, mild tannins and measured acidity. Overall, it offers a sensation of gentleness; a delightfully pleasant wine. Its fine liqueur taste highlights a spicy and herbal character of cloves, white pepper and eucalyptus whereas hints of toffee in the background reveal a seductive and rounded wine with every sip you enjoy. Sand, potato peel, roots... a wild and elegantly rustic wine which transports the drinker to the landscape it was created in.

The winery
Hacienda Solano
Hacienda Solano is a small family-owned winery in La Aguilera, a historic village in Burgos and home to some of the best vineyards in the DO Ribera del Duero appellation. The winery's plots, some of which are a hundred years old, thrive in extreme climatic conditions at altitudes of around 1000 metres. The terrain plus the small size of the plots mean mechanized farming methods are out of the question. The oenologist Sophie Khün, from Alsace and with a long professional...
