Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

Following the impressive 2016, the 2017 Ignios Orígenes Vijariego Negro was also great but with a different aromatic palette. Of course you have the vintage differences, with the super dry 2017 and the early harvest. The nose had a note of smoked bacon and a touch of iron intermixed with wild berries, flowers and spices. The palate revealed some grainy tannins that might require some time in bottle to get polished, and there's a dry, serious finish. This has a vibrant palate that transmits freshness. There were 3,000 bottles produced, as the vineyard is finally delivering normal yields now that it has recovered from a very poor situation when Pérez started working the vineyard in 2012.

Borja owns about 6 hectares of vines and also rents land from local...
