The wine

The Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert offers a breathtaking and classic bouquet of ripe black fruits interwoven with notes of saddle leather, pepper, garrigue, and bacon. This ripe, full-bodied, structured, silky wine of remarkable purity is already complex and ends on a serious length. To be enjoyed over the next 10 to 15 years.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker, Jancis Robinson, and Suckling

The classically styled 2016 Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert boasts savory scents of black olive and leather. Medium to full-bodied, it's plummy and rich, creamy and ripe but savory and earthy, not jammy at all, with a lingering, velvety-textured finish. It drinks well now, but it should continue to evolve and drink well through 2035.

— Joe Czerwinski (31/10/2018)Robert Parker Wine Advocate Vintage 2016 - 93 PARKER

Pure and lifted with the aroma of fresh, berry fruit. Less dense than imagined but pure, fresh and juicy with extremely fine-grained tannins. Refined and almost approachable but history says it will age.

This shows pretty dark fruit along with cloves, dark berries and hints of black pepper. Medium to full body and a juicy finish.

Ever since then, Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been a reference winery for northern Rhône wines, and their iconic Hermitage La Chapelle is among the best wines ever produced.   The Frey family, owners of Château La Lagune in...
