The wine

Jardín Rojo is the most recent wine project undertaken by Viñedos Singulares at this present time. It comprises a selection of Tempranillo vines in the municipality of Laguardia, in Rioja Alavesa, where clay and calcareous soils are regularly found at altitudes of 600 metres. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and ageing is carried out for several months in French oak vats.

Jardín Rojo follows the concept of wine based on a modern-type, short ageing process, which brings out strong, concentrated aromas of violets and cherries that recall the typical smells associated with carbonic maceration. On the palate it has a good deal of freshness and a dilute texture that conjures up wines produced from Garnacha grapes; it is decidedly juicy and fleshy. There is absolutely no doubt that we have here a first-class wine, with plenty of structure considering such a short time spent in barrel.

A careful selection of the most important indigenous grape varieties in each region is used to produce...
