The wine
Martí Fabra’s wines represent the living history of a region, the traditions of a people and a landscape, a pure example of authenticity. He has seen fashions in winemaking come and go, but he has remained firmly and enthusiastically committed to maintaining family winemaking traditions in these lands.
What does this wine taste like?
Though it is not as deep as its bigger brother, Vinyes Velles (old vines), it is a splendid yet affordable wine offering amazing value for money. It offers liqueur-like sensations in perfect harmony with a balancing acidity. Oratori makes no effort to hide its strength, while gaining in pleasantness with every moment it sits in the glass. A rustic and solid wine, just like the landscape it has come from, it has a fantastic grainy feel and combines ripe fruit with soothing tones and aromas of dry scrubland. As with all great wines, its flavours evolve with time as bay leaves, cherries and a pinch of salt appear. Lingering on the palate for minutes after every sip, it is in no way a heavy drink making it only natural to refill the glass and have a second drink. Serve relatively cool (14º) to enjoy it anytime, even on warm summer days.

Winemaking
Grapes are collected by hand and taken to the winery in 15kg crates where they ferment in large tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine then ages for 9 months in the winery’s characteristic old underground concrete tanks, a material which allows the micro-oxygenation key to the resulting wine’s complexity and excellent balance.

L'Oratori
Oratori takes its name from the winery’s emblematic vineyards on the Oratori (which means chapel or place of prayer) hillside where they grow Grenache alongside Carignan, Tempranillo and small amounts of French varieties.
