The wine

La Huella de Aitana is a special wine for Gonzalo Celayeta, it is ‘the spoilt child’. His first vintage was in 2011, the first year of Aitana's (eldest daughter) life, so he decided to dedicate a wine to her. It had to be something delicate, subtle, with ‘grace’... and what better than a rosé, a different rosé, with character and that would allow a good evolution in the bottle.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker and Jancis Robinson

I also tasted the just-bottled 2019 La Huella de Aitana rosé, which is a bright pink, aromatic and expressive (roses and talcum powder), with spicy reminiscences of its four months in oak barrels and a seamless palate, where it shows volume and balance, and a long and tasty finish with a pleasant touch of bitter notes. This reminded me more of some claretes (produced like a red with a mixture of red and white grapes), combining characteristics of red and white wines, very good for a wide range of food, and for sure with the stuffing and balance to develop nicely in bottle. 6,500 bottles were filled in March 2020.

Very well-integrated oak. Delicate rosé colour. Red fruit, sweet sensation, hints of mountain herbs and a touch of lees. Complex rosé, fresh, sweetish character and enveloping palate. A rich and voluminous rosé but still sharp and fresh. The Navarra rosé we all love to drink! I want to see more rosés in Navarra such this one. What a pleasure!
