Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The white 2019 La Pell Blanco Parcela el Vinyet was produced with a field blend from a 1.41-hectare vineyard planted in 1889 with more than 10 grape varieties—Trobat Blanc, Hebén, Sumoll Blanc, Macabeu, Xarel.lo, Pansa Valenciana, Pansa de la Noguera, Valencí, Moscatel de Alejandría, Garnacha Blanca, Pirineos 17 and Pirineos 4, the last two of which were recovered by Celler Lagravera. The grapes were picked at three different points of ripeness and then were destemmed and barely crushed. It fermented in clay tinaja with the skins for four months, during which time it went through malolactic fermentation. It matured for a few months in a tinaja, a 500-liter acacia barrel and some glass demijohns, some of which developed a layer of flor yeast. It's delicate, floral and eminently Mediterranean with notes of underbrush and fennel, and it is strict and straight, with moderate ripeness and alcohol (12.27%). It's complex, nuanced, elegant and fresh, with very tasty flavors and an almost salty finish. Austere and mineral. This one is sold without appellation of origin despite being within the limits of Costers del Segre. 1,121 bottles were filled in April 2020.

Lagravera is a winery where we work with great sensitivity to this very unique environment called La Serra Llarga. The project was born in 2006 as a way to recover an old gravel pit (thus the name “la gravera”= the gravel pit), regenerate its soil and recuperate the tradition of winemaking in the zone. The winery is located between the Pyrenees and the Ebro Valley, in a part of the Anticline that here bears the name of the Serra Llarga and which constitutes the...
