The wine

Le Chêne Noir is made from grapes of vines growing in chalky-clay soils on gentle sun-soaked slopes to the east of the river Rhône. This jewel of a wine is made in La Cave de Cairanne, a small cooperative of 65 vignerons in the southern Rhône region.

The winemaking process is completely, and successfully, focused on the quality of the fruit. Aged in concrete rather than wood, the result is a red wine that conquers the drinker with the sincerity of its flavour; a wine which can only be described as pure fruit.

Refreshing and smooth-flowing in the mouth, with just the right measure of tannins. Its fruity, floral, and spicy expressiveness is eloquent and direct. A small but splendid wine especially at this affordable price — an excellent choice for hot summer days.
