The wine

Paleo Rosso was born in 1989. It is the wine that has evolved the most over time: born as a classic Bordeaux blend, it was transformed in 2001 into a 100% Cabernet Franc. A beautiful story of obstinacy and challenge to the stereotype of Cabernet Franc difficult to produce even more in purity. Paleo Rosso is today one of the symbols of Bolgheri despite its absolute diversity and originality and is one of the most famous Cabernet Francs in the world. The word Paleo comes from the common name to indicate the Festuca Pratensis (of the Graminacee family), a spontaneous herb of the Tuscan coast. It represents one of the best expressions of Italian Cabernet Franc.

Intense ruby, the nose releases a beautiful range of red flowers, berries, cinchona, coffee, chocolate, graphite, incense and rhubarb. The tasting is of a perfectly balanced opulence. Full and fleshy, it is also crunchy and enjoyable, with smooth tannins but not without a varietal rusticity in the background. Dark, with returns of wet earth and confectioned fruit, it has an immense and very long finish with toasted puffs.

Le Macchiole

Founded in the early eighties, over the years Le Macchiole has become a point of reference for lovers of the best experiments in the Bolgheri area. Now a historical winery of the district, today led by Cinzia Merli, it has a style in continuous evolution, rooted in the young tradition of the territory but willing to question itself with radical changes. A continuous spirit of change, therefore, that among many things has also led to the organic conversion of the vineyards and...
