The wine

Domaine de Fontbonau was founded in 2008 by Fréderic Engerer, one of the most important personalities in the world of French wine-making, president of Château Latour (Bordeaux) and Clos de Tart (Burgundy), and his friend, the prestigious oenologist Jérôme Malet. A rigorous study of the terroir combined with organic agriculture methods and traditional vinification processes have created wines embodying an excellent interpretation of the Rhône terroir. They offer a wonderful structure with a perfect balance between freshness, the aromatic expression of the fruit, and delicate tannins.

Les Chaux de Fontbonau is the second label wine from Domaine de Fontbonau. It takes its name from the main plot where the grapes are grown to create the blend; 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah. A wine which offers everything we want in a Côtes-du-Rhône: rich aromas with spicy notes and ripe red fruit, intensity, freshness and a notable elegance.
