Together with Costantino Charrère, this Les Crêtes winery has made Valdostan wine growing history, and reminds us that in Italy it is not only Alto Adige that is home of the great Pinot Noirs on this side of the Alps. A historic winemaker, Costantino grows vines and cellars with a focus on sustainability and innovation, and has become a symbol far beyond the region's borders, with epic wines such as the Cuvée Bois chardonnay. Direct and full of life, the Pinot Noir is no exception in a range that never misses a beat: this is a steel-only red, which enhances its temperament as an elegant, mountain wine, distinguished by its intense colour, pronounced fruit and complex structure. Ruby in colour, on the nose there are fresh notes of red fruit, undergrowth and sage. Fruity and sapid on the palate, it has a fine structure and velvety tannins. The finish is fresh and mineral. Great paired with first courses, cured meats, red and white meats, fondues, and cheeses. Excellent with blue fish dishes, either baked, grilled or carpaccio.
