The wine
Clos dels Fòssils gets its name from one of the Llopart parcels, with a subsoil consisting of rocky layers of marine origin and numerous fossils. This is covered with alternate layers of sand, chalk and clay. Its mineral composition, with an abundance of phosphorus, silica, calcium and potassium, results in interesting growing conditions for the vines and their grapes, which grow to be healthy, concentrated and of excellent quality. The end result is this white wine, which is a bright straw-yellow colour, heralding aromas of fruity notes along with toasty and lightly smoky hints. On the palate it is balanced, elegant and creamy with a smooth, lengthy aftertaste.
