Mastrojanni is a historic Montalcino winery founded in 1975 by Gabriele Mastrojanni, a lawyer from Rome who arrived at the village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate intent upon producing this region's famous Brunello. Since 2008 the firm has belonged to the Illy group, yet successfully maintained in the vineyard and winery the same traditional production methods and high quality standards of those early years. Today, as formerly, their products continue to conquer the palates of experts and enthusiasts alike.
The 27 ha of vineyards owned by the winery are located in the southern part of the denomination. Here, their diverse altitudes and varied sun exposure, in addition to the different ages of the vines, enable the land to express itself brilliantly with every crop. Wise management of the winery has been equally important, with renovation work in the vineyards, a meticulous grape selection and the sole use of native yeasts. The quality of the soil and the grapes and the team's expertise have resulted in wines which speak for themselves: classic, elegant, sumptuous.
The Mastrojanni Brunello is a traditional wine and closely linked to this terroir. Montalcino's poor soils give rise to a wine with complex aromas, of cherries, violets, leather, tobacco, black pepper and mineral notes. On the palate it appears classic and classy, dynamic, rich, with a perfect balance between its powerfulness and smoothness. A graceful and elegant wine that provides moments of genuine pleasure from the first sip to the last mouthful.

Loved it!
Fantastic Brunello, full bodied, very intense and persistent, ripe fruit, minerals and sweaty horse! Enjoy it with a tasty piece of meat!

Eccellente
Ottimo Brunello che accompagna all’abituale sottofondo fruttato un forte sapore di terra: perfetto con il capretto ed in generale con la selvaggina, ovviamente
